On April 1, 2010, C.A.R.E. vans transported 42 wonderful dogs from Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas to Colorado. There were Pys, Newfies, Schnauzers, Labs, Goldens, Terriers, Cocker Spaniels, Setters, Bassets, a Dane, a German Shorthair Pointer, a Beagle, a Dalmatian, and an Akbash There were also a couple of adorable mixed breed dogs. This is the first transport where we have transported a Bull Terrier to safety with a rescue. Vinny, the Bull Terrier, was a very happy, gentle, and satisfied passenger!
Our terrific volunteer driver, Tracy Ellis Maxwell, took all of the pictures of the dogs changing vehicles in Topeka. The next grouping of pictures were taken at the Animal Health Center Hays where the animals were safely loaded into 2 cargo vans bound for Denver.
Again, Jed Fox, our Denver based co-pilot, accompanied us and did a great job welcoming all the dogs and answering their questions.
Thanks to all of you for saving this incredibly special group of kids!!
