In December 2008, our girl scout friends in Madison, KS held another fundraiser for C.A.R.E. They raised over $200 to support our transports by holding a pet photo session with Santa. In the last year, C.A.R.E. has transported 85 dogs from Madison Animal Control to safety with Colorado rescues. Danita Schimmelpfenig, the local animal control officer, helped organize this wonderful fundraising event and it made front page press in Madison. The girls earned their Animal Badge from the scouts and a t-shirt from C.A.R.E. Scouts, thank you for helping the homeless pets in your area and educating the public about the pet overpopulation problem.
