2024 Betty White Challenge

The 2024 Betty White Challenge was January 17th . This is the day Betty White would have turned 102. While our favorite Golden Girl appeared on stage and screen for close to 70 years, her true love was advocating and supporting animal welfare around the globe. Every animal organization was encouraged yesterday to reach out for donations in Betty’s memory on social media sites.

In her honor, C.A.R.E. opened up a 6 ½ day window for organizations to apply for small funding donations. This is the 3rd year C.A.R.E. has done this, and the response was overwhelming. To quickly summarize, C.A.R.E. helped with vetting for 57 dogs and cats and provided sponsorship for 49 dogs and 9 cats to be transported to safety. Additionally, C.A.R.E. responded to the pleas for help because of the freezing temperatures and storms last weekend. We purchased multiple space heaters for our kennel buildings, straw for animals living outside, and sent funds for pet food and microchips.

Clearly The Betty White Challenge serves as a catalyst, encouraging and inspiring a ripple effect of kindness. This extends not only between individuals but also across organizations and communities. The transformative power of C.A.R.E. paying it forward strengthens relationships between us. Please continue to reach out if C.A.R.E. can help and thank you for all who do the hard hands-on work to save and enrich the lives of our furry friends.
